This Privacy Policy explains how Biwee Team ("Biwee", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you use the Biwee mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").
Biwee helps you discover plant names and facts from a photo or uploaded image, and organize your discoveries in a personal plant journal.
Age Requirement (17+)
The Service is intended for users who are 17 years of age or older. If you are under 17, do not use the Service. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a user under 17, we will take steps to delete it.
1) Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information depending on how you use the Service and the permissions you grant.
- Information you provide: name, username, email address; customer support content; journal content you create.
- Automatically collected: device information, usage analytics, crash logs/diagnostics; location (approximate or precise) only if you allow.
- Photos: if you choose to identify a plant, you may take a photo or upload an image.
2) AI-Related Processing for Plant Identification
Your control: You decide whether to upload an image or text for identification.
Processing location: Uploaded images/text are processed on Biwee Team’s own servers.
No third-party sharing for processing: We do not share uploaded images/text with any third party for generating identification results.
Deletion after processing: We delete the uploaded image/text from our processing servers as soon as reasonably practicable after results are generated and returned to you.
No training / no marketing: We do not use your uploaded images/text to train models for advertising or marketing purposes.
We do not perform face recognition and we do not process biometric identifiers. Images are used only to generate identification results and related plant insights.
3) How We Use Information
- Provide and maintain the Service (accounts, login, identification, journal features)
- Personalize your experience (preferences, language, relevant content)
- Improve and develop the Service (analytics, troubleshooting, reliability)
- Security and fraud prevention
- Customer support
- Legal compliance and protection of rights
We do not sell your personal information.
4) Cookies, Similar Technologies, and Web Beacons
If parts of the Service use web-based components, we may use cookies or similar technologies (which may include web beacons) for login/session management, remembering preferences, and basic measurement of usage. You can control cookies via your device or browser settings, where applicable.
5) How We Share Information
We disclose information only in limited cases and only to the minimum extent necessary:
- With your consent or at your direction
- With service providers (processors) under contractual obligations
- For legal reasons (compliance with law or lawful requests)
- To protect rights, safety, and prevent fraud or abuse
6) International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent mechanisms.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8) Data Retention
- Account information: retained for the duration of your account; deleted or anonymized within 30 days after account deletion unless legally required otherwise.
- Usage analytics: up to 12 months.
- Customer support: up to 6 months after resolution.
- Identification uploads: deleted from processing servers as soon as reasonably practicable after results are generated.
9) Your Rights and Choices
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict/object, and withdraw consent (where applicable). To exercise your rights, contact us at systeraalte@icloud.com. We aim to respond within 5 business days.
Location permissions can be managed in your device settings at any time.
10) Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version with a revised Effective Date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice where required.
